Uses of Molecular Sieves

Molecular sieve is mainly caused by molecular attraction, which produces a “surface force” on the fixed surface. When the fluid flows through, some molecules in the fluid will make irregular movements and collide with the surface of the adsorbent. Molecular concentration occurs on the surface, and in the overall collision motion, the number of molecules is reduced, so as to achieve the effect of separation.

Applications of NSP-3 Molecular Sieve:

It is used for removal of mercaptan of natural gas and carbon dioxide of liquefied natural gas.

Natural gas is a mixture of hydrocarbon gases as the main component, long accompanied by CO2,H2S and other non-hydrocarbon gases, CO2,H2S and other acidic gases will lead to corrosion of equipment and pipelines, and the existence of CO2 will lead to low calorific value of natural gas.  In addition, LNG (liquefied natural gas) raw material CNG (compressed natural gas) must be removed before liquefaction, such as carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide and other impurities, to avoid crystallization in the cryogenic process clogging pipelines and corrosive gas corrosion of pipelines and equipment.  Carbon dioxide can easily form dry ice during liquefaction, clogging pipes. Therefore, high CO2 content in CNG must be removed before it can be prepared into LNG.

Molecular sieve for VOCs is our latest developed product, a new generation of special molecular sieve for adsorption of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

It is hydrophobic and organophilic, suitable for the adsorption and separation of VOCs from industrial exhaust gas, especially suitable for the separation and recovery of organic matter from industrial exhaust gas containing more water vapor.  

It has good thermal stability and hydrothermal stability, stable structure, uniform pore, adsorption and desorption speed, easy regeneration, non-combustion, long service life and other advantages, which could replace the traditional carbon materials (activated carbon, activated carbon fiber, etc.).

 

It has developed three-dimensional medium microporous channels, which is suitable for adsorption of small and medium molecular VOCs with molecular sieve size less than 0.55nm, but not for adsorption of larger molecular VOCs.  Typical VOCs applicable to this product include: toluene, xylene, styrene, hexane, cyclohexane, acetone, ethyl acetate, methanol, ethanol, propanol, butanol, phenol, formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, etc.

Application of Lithium Molecular Sieve TROX-100 Series
TROX-100 series of high-efficiency oxygen-producing molecular sieves are mainly used in pressure swing adsorption oxygen-producing devices. They have the characteristics of large nitrogen adsorption capacity, high nitrogen and oxygen separation coefficient, and easy desorption. The separation coefficient of nitrogen and oxygen is more than 2 times that of type A oxygen-enriched molecular sieve. At the same time, TROX-100 series of oxygen-enriched molecular sieves have good wear resistance and long service life. Therefore, the use of TROX-100 series of oxygen-enriched molecular sieves for oxygen production can significantly reduce oxygen production energy consumption and device operating costs, and improve economic benefits. Applications of NSP-2 Molecular Sieve:

In the production of compressed natural gas (CNG) or liquefied natural gas (LNG), NSP-2 Molecular Sieve is used for deep dehydration, to prevent the equipment or pipelines from freezing and clogging during pressurization and liquefaction.

Generally, two or three tower processes are used, and two tower processes are used for longer periods.  During production, one tower is in adsorption state and another is in activation regeneration state.  During adsorption, the natural gas with high water content generally passes through the molecular sieve bed from top to bottom to reduce the disturbance of gas flow to the molecular sieve bed.  When switching between adsorption and regeneration, the pressure-lowering and pressure-generating rates should be less than 0.3MPa/min.
