Titanium carbide

1. Use of titanium carbide as a multiphase material

These materials, which have a high melting temperature, high hardness and excellent chemical resistance, are used for cutting tools, wear-resistant components and other products. It is a material that has excellent electrical conductivity and is therefore preferred for the electrode.


2. Titanium carbide can be used as a coating material


Titanium carbide has many uses, such as anti-tritium coating for fusion reactors and electrical contact material, or roadheader pick coating. Depositing a layer on the tool will increase its service life by 3-5 times.


3. Foam ceramics can be prepared using titanium carbide


Ceramic foam filters can be used to remove impurities from fluids. The filtering process is done by agitation, followed by adsorption. Titanium carbide polymer foam ceramics offer higher heat and corrosion resistance, strength, hardness and thermal conductivity than oxide ceramics.


4. Infrared ceramics use titanium carbide


The intermetallic titanium carbide has good chemical stability, does not change its valence, and is therefore a great choice for applications in high temperatures.
