The chemical formula of aluminum oxide is Al2O3. The compound is white, powdery and high-hardness. It has a melting point at 2054 degrees Celsius and a boil point at 2980 degrees. It is a crystalline ionic compound that is ionized by high temperatures. Aluminum oxide exhibits characteristics such as high dispersibility (higher than water), insulation, a stable phase of crystal, high hardness and good dimensional stability.
