Sorbitol as raw material, through dehydration closed loop formation of sorbitol, and then with palmitic acid esterification reaction prepared.White to yellowish waxy solid, melting point about 45-47℃.This product is insoluble in water, can be dissolved in polar organic solvents, can be dispersed in hot water, is a non-ionic surfactant, HLB 6.7, emulsifying, dispersing, wetting and other properties.

Applications of Sorbitan monopalmitate:

Food grade sipan 40 can be used as food emulsifier in accordance with GB 25552.For use alone or in combination with Tween-60,Tween-65, and Tween-80, refer to GB 2760 for limited use.Industrial grade sipan 40: used as emulsifier and dispersant in the cosmetic industry;Emulsion polymerization as emulsifying stabilizer;Printing ink as dispersant;Can also be used as textile waterproof coating additives, oil emulsifying dispersant;Widely used in polymer antifogging drops, PVC agricultural film 1 ~ 1.7%, EVA0.5 ~ 0.7%.
